June-RSC-on-Wall-RESIZED-WEBFor the first time ever, wordsmiths 6-12 can literally bust a move at Small Print Toronto’s rap-poetry workshop, Rhyme Stew Crew, on Saturday, June 15th,  2-4pm, at Lillian Smith Library (239 College, at Spadina).

Noted poet Claire Caldwell will conduct this month’s session with Ann-Marie Williams, Teacher and Owner of Movement Lab, a dance school for young movers and shakers based in Leslieville.

After setting a classic work of children’s verse, like Green Eggs and Ham, to old school hip-hop beats, Claire and the crew will create their own rhymes and make noisemakers out of recycled instruments.

And Ann-Marie will lead the crew in some cool creative movement exercises based on their rhythms and words. (Rest assured, it will not turn into a hip-hop dance class.)

Admission is free. But space is limited. So, advance registration is strongly encouraged.
