We’re adding a garden fresh new ingredient to our popular Rhyme Stew: creative movement. Wordsmiths 6-12 can now literally ‘bust a move’ at our monthly rap-poetry workshop, Rhyme Stew Crew, starting on Saturday, June 15th, 2-4pm, at Lillian Smith Library (239 College, at Spadina). FREE with RSVP.
Noted poet Claire Caldwell will conduct this month’s session with Ann-Marie Williams, Teacher and Owner of Movement Lab, a dance school for young movers and shakers based in Leslieville.

Roald Dahl‘s novel Matilda, inspired a musical currently taking Broadway by storm. And Danny Devito turned it into a hit movie. But the brightest moment for Dahl’s book will surely come this fall, when it provides a starting point for original, Toronto-based tales by writers 6-12 in our 4th Annual Toronto Roald Dahl Day Short Story Contest:
The arrival of a new novel by Vikki VanSickle is cause for celebration. Over the past four years, the Little City Festival has blossomed from a party in Sorauren Park to a gigantic annual festival. Such phenomenal growth is due to the herculean efforts of our co-presenters at The Little Paper and Rooster Studios, as well as the generous support of enough artists, sponsors and volunteers to populate a small city.
Just as Spanish towns rejuvenate daily by taking a siesta, the Little City team has opted to take 2013 off to recharge its collective battery. See you in 2014!
